Textile Conservation, Restoration & Care
|
Hello and welcome
to the website of
Textile Conservator
and Artist, Sally Jubb.
Sally Jubb trained firstly as a scientist, and then as a Textile Conservator at the Textile Conservation
Centre in Winchester.
Since childhood,
she has enjoyed
creating with fabric,
and now she gets
the best of both worlds, conserving precious
antique textiles and
creating her own

Part of Sally's week is
spent in professional
textile conservation
studios, working on
nationally important
tapestries and carpets.
The rest of her time
is devoted to the conservation of those
much-loved textiles
and leather items
that many people have
in their homes, churches,
workplaces and
social venues. |

Textiles such as samplers,
costumes and banners
can all suffer from a variety of environmental
and insect damage,
and will continue to
deteriorate without the
appropriate care and conservation treatment. |
|
Sally enjoys working
on the widest variety of
textile and leather objects.
She is currently
conserving textiles
from several
rural museums
in Dorset, and is
making a new altar frontal
for a church in Devon. |

|
Depending on its condition,
a textile might be restored
to as near the original
as possible, or
conserved to stabilize
its present state,
thus reducing the possibilty
of future degradation. |

If you would like to discuss a textile, including leather,
that's in need of some Tender Loving Conservation,
with no obligation.
Wearing her Artist's hat, Sally is also very happy to
